When selecting the images, I tried to choose photographs that reflected the mood, colour and flavour of each location. I arranged the book by destination, with a collection of images of friends and antics at the back. Hopefully the book captures the feelings associated with travelling and shared experiences. The element of food seemed to go hand-in-hand with that of travel.
It was great to be able to put these images together in such a special and personal way. Using a digital camera often means collecting a mass of imagery, and it’s easy to forget to print photographs. Seeing the book come together supplied a reason for taking all of those snaps along the way. Many of the photographs used in the book would probably not end up on a wall, but they look great when put together to tell a story of share.
