Book details
With the exception of the Red Fox on the front cover the only prerequisite for the appearance of a photograph on these pages is that it has been shown in 'portrait' format. One or two images have been cropped from 'landscape', but otherwise this is essentially a selection of pictures of natural history subjects from the UK, France and Italy that have been photographed in their own habitat and taken with the camera this way up. Only one of these illustrations (the Black-winged Stilt) was captured from a hide. It is hoped that these intimate photographs will demonstrate the beauty and fascination of wildlife when viewed at close quarters.
Please note that a shortened version of this book containing purely the insect photographs has been published in softback under the title 'In My Natural Element... Intimate Insects'.
