In My Natural Element... The Wildlife of Wandle Park
Atalanta
Book details
This book contains wildlife photographs taken in Wandle Park, London SW19 by David Element. Significant restoration work has been carried out during recent years by several conservation bodies and volunteer groups and the Park has been transformed from a rather bleak municipal affair into a well vegetated area through which restored natural river channels pass. The Park lies adjacent to the River Wandle, also the subject of major improvement works during the past 20 years. This chalk-stream tributary of the River Thames is now surprisingly clean and wildlife-rich, having formerly been classified as a sewer! Several unexpected new species now reside in Wandle Park and as many as possible of these have been included on the plates of this book.
