Choosing your paper type can be on of the most difficult aspects of creating your phonebook, especially if you have not seen the different paper in person, so in this post we aim to break down the different paper type properties and help you make the right choice for your project.
Digitally printed Perfect bound books
This is our most versatile paper type, available in hardback and paperback covers and in all our photobook sizes. This is a satin finish paper, 200gsm and perfect bound, it opens like a traditional book and is similar to Taschen coffee table books. Depending on the photobook format you choose you can a maximum of 178 pages, so can really make a substantial photobook. Digitally printed using HP Indigo printers, this is perfect for having a mix of photos and text, however as it is not lay-flat bound beware if you plan on placing an image across the spread as the perfect binding means some of the image will be lost in the spine of your book.
Like our Classic paper, this is a 200gsm, perfect bound book but with a very high gloss finish. Again you can have up to 178 pages depending on the photobook format and it comes in paperback or hardback cover finishes. It is printed using top of the range HP Indigo printers on 200gsm paper. Once printed, the pages are treated with a high-gloss finish. The high gloss finish gives a sharp, vibrant finish to your photobook.
AT 170gsm, our Matte paper is the thinnest of our paper choices. The true matte finish and paper weight gives makes this more of a fine art quality feel to your photobook. Available in matte hardback covers only, the maximum possible paper numbers is 154 pages. Like our other digitally printed Classic and Gloss-coated papers, the matte paper is also perfect bound, but is printed using Kodak Nexpress high-density printers.
