366 Days Through My Lens
By Jane Burkinshaw
Towards the end of 2011 I felt that my photography was stuck in a bit of a rut. Professionally I was doing OK, but privately I wanted to spend more time photographing for pleasure and experimenting with different techniques and subjects. Then I came across the concept of taking a photograph a day for a year and I was hooked. In 2012 I took and posted an image each and every day, with the aim of pushing my boundaries, and growing as a photographer. What I didn't expect to get out of the project was such a wonderful window into our life as a family, the highs and lows, the mundane and the fantastical , some sad endings and exciting beginnings.
This book is dedicated with love to my awesome family - Nic, Abigail, Sam, our newest member, Ferb, and the very much missed Daisy.
Thank you for your unrelenting support (and threats against my person when I looked like I was giving up), your patience, your many ideas and sometimes bonkers suggestions for my daily picture and for hardly ever tiring of posing for me.
I'm also hugely grateful for and humbled by all the support, and comments I've had from the wider circle of family, friends and strangers via the wonderful "interweb", in particular through www.365project.org and Facebook.
