Book Description

Wisp of a Dee Breeze follows my exploration of the Welsh River Dee from the estuary mouth between Point of Ayr on the Welsh side and Red Rocks on Wirral as far as Corwen, Denbighshire in North Wales.

I had half a thought when I first started documenting river life at the estuary from my side of the river (Wirral) that I might follow the Dee Breeze and photograph as much of it as I could, as far as I could. In turn as this project evolved the idea of creating a book to share my images came to mind.

This is filled with a selection of images taken across all four seasons. Some are 'of the moment' as I recorded the view in front of me. Others have evolved into original pieces of photographic art inspired by the Dee itself.

I hope this journey will inspire others to explore 'Our River Dee' - the Welsh one in mind, if not in body.

More About the Author

Annette is a Wirral based Artist who uses Photography as her main source of creative inspiration. She creates inspired Immersive Abstracts in the form of photographic collages of places she visits, things she sees and interacts with. Some of her work is based on the natural world; in the garden, countryside and along the UK's shoreline (on and off shore). Annette has been a Photographer for over 30 years (mostly perfecting the 'art' of people and observational photography). After an 18 year career with the NHS (due to the end of a contract) and following the completion of a Health related MSc with the Open University, Annette decided to forfill a long held ambition and become a full time photographer. During the Spring Lock Down of 2020 Annette began to explore her more artistic side and began to incorporate it into her photographic presentations. In turn this has evolved into the creation of unique Immersive Abstract Photographic Art, Pop Art and gradually more creative pieces of fine art photography. More recently Annette took her first step into the world of Photographic Art Books, creating 'Wisp of a Dee Breeze' which combines an exploration and journey along the Welsh River Dee from Wirral to North Wales, incorporating a number of different photographic styles and pieces of photographic art into her book.
