In 2018 it was announced that the local newspaper offices would be bulldozed and a new hotel built on the site. The offices had been empty and locked for some time and, apart from large machinery and furniture which was removed, left as they were on the day they closed. I took advantage of this and made numerous visits taking many images of the eerie semi-darkness, empty corridors, offices and print works. I was inspired by the shadows, fractured light and feeling of abandonment inside the complex. I then used these images to produce my submission to the Royal Photographic Society for an Associateship in Fine Art Photography. In this book, I have published the various parts that made up that submission.
