Competition Terms and Conditions

1 Competition Entry

1.1 Entry is open to residents of the UK except employees (and their families) of Bob Books Ltd, its printers and agents, the suppliers of the prizes and any other companies associated with the competitions. The winner(s) must be aged 18 or over. Proof of identity and age may be required. Use of a false name or address will result in disqualification.
1.2 All entries must be made directly by the person entering the competition. Entries made online using methods generated by a script, macro or the use of automated devices will be void. No responsibility can be accepted for entries lost, damaged or delayed in the post.
1.3 Entry must be made by the specified terms of the promotion or to competition@bobbooks.co.uk Postal entries, unless otherwise stated, cannot be accepted.
1.4 For Book of the Month, entry is only open for orders placed no more than 6 weeks before the 1st of each month. Entries must have the order number and a contact telephone number to be accepted. The winner will be notified, where possible, within the 1st week of the following month.

2 Prizes

2.1 The prizes are as stated, are not transferable to another individual and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. Winners are responsible for expenses and arrangements not specifically included in the prizes, including any necessary travel arrangements.
2.2 Prizes are subject to availability and the prize suppliers’ terms and conditions.
2.3 Winners will be chosen from all correct entries received by the closing date stated within the promotional material. In the case of the Book of the Month competition, all eligible entries will be judged and a finalist list presented to that month guest judge.
2.4 Winners will be confirmed in writing. Reasonable efforts will be made to contact a winner. Failure to respond and/or provide an email address/ an address for delivery, or failure to meet the eligibility requirements may result in forfeiture of the prize. If they cannot be contacted, or are unable comply with these terms and conditions, Bob Books Ltd reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant drawn at random or in the case of the Book of the Month competition, the finalists.
2.5 Where applicable, the decision of the judges is final based on the criteria set out in the promotion and no correspondence will be entered into over this decision. Competitions may be modified or withdrawn at any time.

3 Withdrawal

3.1 Bob Books and associated promoters reserve the right to amend or alter the terms of competition and reject entries from entrants not entering into the spirit of the competition.

4 Data Protection and Publicity.

4.1 The winner agrees to the use of his or her name, photograph and disclosure of county of residence and will co‐operate with any other reasonable requests by Bob Books Ltd relating to any post‐winning publicity.
4.2 Unless otherwise stated, Any personal data relating to entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent. Please see Bob Books privacy policy for further details.
4.3 Data relating to entrants will be retained by Bob Books, email address will be automatically added to receive Bob Books Ltd’s newsletter. Please note that you will be given the opportunity to unsubscribe from the email newsletter via the unsubscribe message in the email.

5 Liability.

5.1 Bob Books cannot accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrant entering the Competition or as a result of accepting any prize.
5.2 Bob Books is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on‐line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment or software, failure of any email or entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet, telephone lines or at any web site, or any combination of these, including any injury or damage to entrant’s or any other person’s computer or mobile telephone related to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in the Competition.
